Massage Therapy involves the hands-on treatment of muscles, connective tissue, ligaments and joints of the body to promote relaxation, improve pain and, and restore physical function. Registered massage therapists are trained to deliver a therapeutic effect on the body and to optimize health and well-being. Registered Massage Therapists individualize their techniques to optimize your health and well-being. Massage Therapists will use their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to combine massage therapy techniques with exercise and other therapies to treat their clients.
Registered Massage Therapists have completed, at minimum, a two-year college program in massage therapy. All Registered Massage Therapists must pass the certification examinations administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Registered Massage Therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
